Summary of the project:

The project aims at complex support and co-facilitation of public administration style transition in East Slovakia to one compatible with EU standards, to help the public servants to adjust to the European style and dimensions required and to support an improvement of their professional and personal competency (and thus the quality of their service to the public). The project aims at enabling them to approximate, implement and possibly enforce the “acquis communautaire”.The project will facilitate the following (re)training programmes: 1) general skills (communication, efficiency, adaptability to new conditions), 2) technical skills (information technology skills, language), 3) general knowledge (introduction to EU), 4) motivation (career development), 5) specific knowledge in field of speciality, as well as in areas of strategic importance for joining the EC internal market: PA, accountancy, standards in quality control, environmental law. The taught materials (law, finances, IT skills and public procurement through IT, European studies, management, total quality management, human resource management, ethics and accountability in public service, professional and personal development skills) will be worked into textbooks available to the participants. The expected number of trained public servants during the run of the project is about 120.
