ACRU Annual Conferences

Official representatives of ACRU's member universities meet each year at an Annual Conference organized in turn by the member universities. Up to now the following conferences have taken place:

The Eleventh ACRU Annual Conference was organized by the Technical University of Kosice in Kosice on October 17-18, 2002. The Conference was a part of celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Technical University’s establishment.

The Tenth ACRU Annual Conference was organized by the University of Mining and Metallurgy (AGH Krakow) in Krakow on June 7-9, 2001.

The Ninth ACRU Annual Conference was organized by the College of Nyiregyhaza, Nyiregyhaza, on October 20-21, 2000.

The Eighth ACRU Annual Conference was organized by the Lviv Polytechnic State University, Lviv, on May 31 &ndash June 2, 1999.

The Seventh Rectors' Conference was organized by the Babes Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca on May 21-23, 1998.

The Sixth Rectors' Conference was organized by the University of Mining and Metallurgy (AGH) Cracow on June 5-7, 1997.

The Fifth Rector's Conference was organized by the Technical University of Kosice in cooperation with the University of P.J. Safarik in Kosice, Slovakia on October 17-18, 1996. The Conference was a part of the Building Bridges Project - Phase II. During the Conference two new regular members (Uzhgorod Institute of Information Science, Economics and Law, Uzhgorod, Ukraine and University "Politechnica" of Bucharest, Bucharest, Romania) and four associate members (American Association of State Colleges and Universities, University System of Georgia, Associated Colleges of the South, Appalachian State University) joined the ACRU.

The Fourth Rectors' Conference was organized by the Pedagogical University of Rzeszow in cooperation with the Technical University of Rzeszow on April 11-13, 1996.

On the Third Rectors' Conference at the University of Miskolc, April 2-4, 1995 the representatives of the member universities have established four working groups which should work within the ACRU. During the Rector's Conference in Miskolc the representatives of the ACRU settled also on the membership fee which is $750 per year and per member institutions.

The ACRU was officially established at the Second Rectors' Conference in Lublin, Poland, on October 28, 1994. The university representatives approved the Constitution of the ACRU. The Technical University of Kosice, Slovakia was approved as a seat of the ACRU and Prof. Karol Florian, DSc, the rector of the Technical University of Kosice was elected as President of the Association.

The First Rectors' Conference was organized by the Technical University of Kosice, Slovakia in March 11-12, 1994. It was a kick off meeting on which the participants discussed and approved the idea to establish an association and its basic mission and goals.
